Sunrise Mountain at Paradise Valley last night coming in with a pair of recent wins including an impressive victory at Centennial. In what has been an up and down season so far the Mustangs played tight defense and pushed the ball offensively throughout the first half. Junior point guard Trey Hill managed the floor and kept the Mustangs in the game as they headed to half time.

The Trojans went into half time up 2 but pulled away in the second half. Trojan guards AJ Anderson and senior Erik Stauffacher-Gray were stymied by the Mustang defense in the first half but found their footing in the second half. Unable to score in the paint during the first half, Gray hit three outside shots contributing 9 second half points and spreading the Mustang defense.

According to Trojan coach Schumaker, "Erik was able to make the second half adjustment we needed to free our offense to take better shots and get the second chance points we were missing in the first half". The Trojans outscored the Mustangs in the second half by 18 and ended up beating beating the Mustangs 53-33. The teams face off again on February 2 at Sunrise Mountain.
